It would be a nice party, I suppose, but everyone in attendance would have a chip on their shoulder. Half the dignitaries might wear sashes with the names of the cities on them, so the people they meet would see the names spelled out. When introduced to each other, they might say the names of these cities very slowly, to make sure the other dignitaries heard them properly. You’d hear many variations on this sentence: “We have more [urban amenity you wouldn’t think of right away] than any other city in [home country].”

Winter Olympics end up in cities like these sometimes, if they’re in cold climates, but rarely Summer Olympics.
